Today our New Year's celebration continues the Countdown to a New You with some pattern ideas for anyone with a resolution to try their hand at sew clothing for themselves this year! We love women's clothing patterns at Indygo Junction and we have a great selection of them that would be perfect for beginners.
We are crazy about the 5 Way Wrap! It's five fashionable looks in one quick and easy design. All you need is a two-sided fabric that you love - fleece, flannel, batiks, wool or linen. It comes with options for finishing the edges in a few different ways, and you also get a free flower pin pattern with your purchase, for securing it with a little extra pizzazz.
The Easy Top and Tunic is a classic, comfortable design, with bust darts and top stitching around the curved top and hem. It's part of our new Indygo Essentials line of patterns, designed to be dressier kind of casual - elegant and classic garments, made to dress up or down, and be comfortable either way. It's designed to be easy to sew and flattering for all body types. All of our Indygo Essentials patterns come in sizes XS-3XL, and the Easy Top and Tunic has three lengths for you to choose from! This is one of those go-to shirt patterns everyone should have in their pattern collection and will turn to again and again.
The Artisan Pants are another Pattern from our Indygo Essentials line of patterns. This wide-leg pant pattern is a sophisticated staple wardrobe item, designed to be comfortable with a hidden elastic waist and four pleated darts. This pattern comes with instructions for lighter fabrics, as well as what you need to know to make them in Denim.
The Gathered Back Top and Tunic is another wardrobe staple. With three-quarter length sleeves, and fabric options that include cotton, but also voile and rayon. It's created to drape beautifully, and look and feel great.
All of these patterns are great options for making your own capsule wardrobe, if that's a New Year's goal of yours like it is for so many of us moving towards more simplicity in our life. For those of us who feel the opposite, and love to have a closet bursting with thrilling choices and colors and different styles for every day, these are all patterns that you could make in different dark or light neutrals, and then mix them up and make them in a few colorful floral or checkered or striped prints too!
