One of the most anticipated fabric releases for the last year has been the new Cotton & Steel collections. This new company features 6 talented fabric designers; Melody Miller, Rashida Coleman-Hale, Alexia Abegg, Kim Kight and Sarah Watts. This fabric has some fun larger scale prints, so, you really want a large surface so you can enjoy the design. That is where a good bag pattern comes in! We paired the In-Style Suitcase Bag with Sarah Watts' August collection. For the main body we used a print that features a lion lounging in a bed of flowers. For the straps a colored-splattered cream added a nice contrast. For the Ideal Duffle bag we mixed three prints, a floral and plaid from Alexia Abegg's Hatbox collection and a navy and white dot from the Cotton & Steel basics line. For the quilted body we used the floral and paired it with contrasting plaid straps. The plaid also adds a design element on the side pockets. To ground the colors, the navy works perfectly on the outside pocket and zipper facing. Too cute!
