Timeless. Sophisticated. Inspired. That’s how some have described Amy’s latest fabric line to hit shops. Vintage Notions: The Dressmaking Collection from Red Rooster Fabrics features beautiful illustrations from old sewing books. “As I was compiling material for the book, Vintage Notions, I envisioned a fabric line to go with it,” Amy said. “The graphics I found were timeless and charming.” Showcasing the artwork of Alice Seipp, who illustrated textbook covers for the Woman’s Institute in the 1920s, this elegant collection includes imagery of sewing tools and notions presented in a modern color palette of gray, peach, turquoise, lettuce green, cream and black. “We wanted a fresh, appealing color palette to update the vintage imagery,” Amy said. We created several Indygo Junction patterns with the fabric line, including Best Bias Skirt (IJ835), Composition Covers (IJ882), Thread Ready Pincushion (IJ856), Stylish Smock (IJ731), Mock Smock (IJ819) and Day to Night Dress (IJ907). If your favorite fabric retailer doesn’t carry the collection, just ask. Take a look at this and more lines by Amy at redroosterfabrics.com, where you can also find instructions for a covetable quilt constructed from the collection.
