Calling all quilters! Is your patchwork a work of art? Give your blocks some rockstar treatment by displaying them in frames. This simple project adds color and interest to any wall, whether your style is classic or contemporary. A block from our whimsical Whirlygigs Quilt (IJ896) makes a playfully sophisticated statement in a kid’s room, while a framed sampler from Sarah’s Big Book of Flowers by Sarah Sporrer becomes a delightful decoration in a living room or kitchen. Switch out seasonal designs, such as those from Through the Seasons (IJ9000F), for a festive flourish. Create a monogram of framed blocks from our A to Z (IJ716) pattern. When selecting a frame, opt for one that complements the colors in your block, and add a mat for a border. Stiffen the fabric with starch or fusible interfacing. To preserve your block, use a UV-protected glass and avoid hanging near windows. For more inspiration, browse our quilt patterns and books.

I just love the harvest the summer fruit! You usually only see gourds and vegies, so it is fun to have the fruit taking a bow! This is a great way to use up scraps of material I have been accumulating forever!
