Sweeten up an ordinary sweatshirt with Halloween appliqué. We love the simple candy corn pattern from one of our earlier collections, The Frost is on the Pumpkin by Sarah Sporrer. So, we plucked it from a pillow project to make a frightfully festive and fashionable top.

To scare up this look, you need one 4-inch-by-5-inch piece of bright gold fabric for the top; one 6-inch-by-7-inch piece of orange or rust fabric, cut on the bias, for the middle; and a 3-inch-by-3-inch piece of white or light tan fabric for the bottom. Cut out the pieces from our Halloween Candy Corn Applique pattern, and stitch onto your sweatshirt. Nothing tricky about this treat. Want more? Check out our books Pillow ParadeAll Hallow’s Eve and Hallowing Harvest for spooky designs you can use to spruce up a readymade shirt.
