We're moving! Look for Indygo Junction soon on Handicraft.com
We mentioned a few weeks ago, we are participating in the One Million Pillowcase Challenge, which is sponsored by American Patchwork and Quilting. AP&Q wants quilters, sewers and crafters to pitch in to reach a goal of donating one million pillowcases to local charities. In July, AP&Q had a contest where people could vote on what pillowcase should be chosen and made for a One Million Pillowcase blog hop. When the results were tallied, this adorable train pillowcase won!

SoHo Bandana pillowcase One Million Pillowcase Challenge

For our pillowcase we wanted to use prints from Amy's new fabric line, SoHo Bandana. We thought the classic print of the bandana was perfect for the train design, since no conductor would be caught not wearing his bandana on the job!

We started with the green paisley as the main print, since the bright colors and small print are perfect for a background, and used the navy, red and blue prints for the train. We love how the colors pop off the green! This train pillow reminded us of another great pillow we made with SoHo, the Dresden Pouf!  Wouldn't they be cute together?

Remember, not only is a conductor lost without his bandana, but also his conductor's cap! Our Classic Cap has that conductor style, and is adorable made out of  SoHo Bandana...

We will be donating our pillowcase to a charity that Amy is very involved with, Enchanted Makeovers. There mission is to transform homeless shelters for women and children into places that inspire behavioral and psychological change. For more suggested charities, check out this page. Also, look to see if there are any local fabric stores participating in the challenge here. For more about the work Enchanted Makeovers does, check out this blog post Amy wrote about her trip to a shelter in Detroit, where Enchanted Makeovers was able to create a beautiful space for homeless women, even including a Sacred Sewing Room! Check out other great Indygo Junction patterns made in SoHo Bandana here...(my favorite project is the Casserole Carry-All--great for a picnic by the train tracks!)
