We recently made some new samples of our Potluck Party round casserole carrier. There are two versions of the carrier, one with a solid top, the other has a pieced sunburst. We really wanted to highlight the sunburst design and did so using a solid aqua body with a yellow gingham sunburst, both from Riley Blake. Yellow bias tape finishes the look.
I love this new sample, it really shows off the piecing and is perfect for a picnic.
The carrier can hold any of your round dishes, whether it be a pie or a glass casserole with a lid. This makes it so much easier to transport your potluck - and makes a beautiful presentation!
We did a second casserole carrier sample using Riley Blake's double sided quilted fabric on the solid version. This lime green and white fabric features a chevron stripe on one side and a tiny polka dot on the other.
Using a quilted fabric like this makes the casserole go together really quickly. The only downside is that you don't use the heatproof batting so you lose a little more heat than you would with our regular version.
However, the ease of sewing the carrier might make up for any heat loss.
The Potluck Party Set would also make a great Christmas gift! Make it in a fun Christmas fabric like this Maude Asbury design from Blend, then fill it with a delicious treat. Who wouldn't love that?
