Our Modern Silhouette Vest has become our top-selling garment pattern - and it is easy to see why. The flattering fit with so many design options lets sewers create a garment that is perfect for their shape, size and style. The vest is created with only four panels. The seams can either be serged and exposed or overlapped and topstitched. Each length (short, medium and long) has a staggered hemline that extends in the back. In case you need a little coverage, you know? We love the look of the serging option for the vest. You can really create a unique design by simply taking advantage of thread color. Notice in the vest above how the high contrast serging really highlights the seaming. If you aren't a fine of such a stark contrast look, you can go more subtle. Here we used dark gray thread to create a quieter contrast on our Crossroads Denim Charcoal Black fabric. Of course, you don't have to create contrast at all. This vest, made from our Crossroads Denim Mushroom fabric uses a thread that is very close in color. In this sample, the seams blend right into the garment. Have you made The Modern Silhouette Vest?
