Single-fold or double-fold? As long as it’s bias binding, we’re not biased! Bias binding typically lines the edges of quilts, place mats, bibs and garments. Several of our patterns showcase this trim, including the Thread Ready Pincushion (IJ856), Grommet Wallet (IJ880), Best Bias Skirt (IJ835), and Binding Time Apron (IJ860). This strip is snipped on the cloth’s cross-grain, or along the diagonal line running at a 45-degree angle at the selvedge, where the fabric is most stretchable. While ready-made bias binding is widely available and inexpensive, selections are fairly limited in colors and patterns. Create your own for a custom look.
