Modern advice art Parents, it's time to rejoice, for it's finally Back To School Time! Summer is almost over and it's time to pack up the backpacks and pencils and send the kids back out to learn. Of course, many kids aren't too thrilled about the start of the school year, so this year make it more exciting by working on some back to school crafts. We have found 5 great sites with a ton of great Back To School projects! 1. Skip To My Lou has five fun ideas to celebrate Back to School time. How about a Back to School party, or picture props? She's got them! Also, check out some great teacher appreciation gifts... 2. Sew4Home is a goldmine of great projects, especially when it comes to Back To School. Locker caddies, book bags, journal covers, even roll-up nap blankets! (Don't you miss the days when people encouraged you to nap during the afternoon?) They also have a great post on re-making old clothes for a new school wardrobe. 3. CraftHabit has compiled 100 (!) back to school projects, from the best crafters on the web. Amazing! Everything from lap desks to dorm furnishings, and even an old-school book strap (perfect for your budding teenage romances.) 4. Metroparent has some great ideas for first-day-of-school photography, teacher gifts and school supplies. I love the chalkboard notebook! 5. Of course, no one does back to school (or anything else for that matter) better than Martha Stewart. Projects galore, as well as fabulous tips for organization. It makes me wish I had a locker again, just so I can organize it... Do you have any projects planned to ease your child's transition back to school? We would love it if you would share! Also, if you like the image at the top, be sure to check out our sister site, The Vintage Workshop, which has a great library of vintage images.
