Who is Crystal?

Meet Crystal Manning, Kansas City artist and fabric designer for Moda Fabrics.  She is also one of our favorite collaborators as her fabric designs work extremely well with our patterns. She designs both cotton and rayons!

Here is Crystal visiting our booth at the Spring 2019 International Quilt Market. Crystal also had her own booth at the show and displayed many of our patterns sewn up in her fabrics.  In the photo above, Crystal is wearing the Everyday Tank and Amy's mom, Donna is showing the Turnabout Tank, both in fabrics from Crystal's new collection, Botanica.

Indygo Junction and Crystal's fabric collections

What Indygo Junction patterns work well with Crystal's fabric collections?  Lots of them! Crystal's new line called Botanica will be released in October 2019.  We were able to get some fabric samples from the collection and have started making some of our patterns with the Botanica line.  Here are some examples, and previews of things to come!

Gathered Back Top and Tunic

First up, Tracey chose this combination of the Gathered Back Top and Tunic  pattern made up in Botanica rayon. Notice the gathering detail on the back of the top that makes it extra comfortable and flattering.

Katelyn's Dress, Tunic and Top

Next Tracey is wearing Katelyns dress in Botanica rayon.

 What comes next?

We will be using Crystal's fabric collection to sew some additional Indygo Junction styles. You can check out what we create in a future post.  Wouldn't the Boardwalk Dress look wonderful made up in the Botanica fabrics?

Or how about the Slumber Party PJs?

Or Snuggle up in the Klassic Kimono Robe made up in one Botanica print with an accent of a second print on the collar.

Stay tuned to our blog to see what other fun fashions we create with Crystal's Botanica fabrics collection!

 Botanical Inspiration

Crystal's Botanica line is colorful and fun - perfect prints for your next top, tunic or dress.  The bright florals also make darling purses and other accessories.  Check out the full collection at Moda.

We look for inspiration in our everyday lives - and even on our fabrics!  Isn't this sentiment on the selvedge edge of Crystal's Botanica line inspiring?

Life is Art - Live it in Color!

Here at Indygo Junction, we love working with many creative and inspiring designers such as Crystal! Share what Indygo Junction pattern you would like to make up in Crystal's fabric!

I have been wanting to try the gathered back Top and Tunic pattern and know that I can find a beautiful piece in this collection.

I would want Modern Silhouette Vest, Pocketbook wristlet, and Buttonback Shirt if I won the contest. Great patterns!

If I won the beautiful fabric I would make the Katelyn dress, the Asymetrical Tunic, and the Modern Medley Tunic. Thanks for the chance to win!

Just starting to get back into garment sewing and those fabrics look wonderful. Do you do swatches?
