Janine Vangool recently designed the UPPERCASE Vol.3, Circular Logic, line of fabric for Windham. We have worked with all three collections Janine has created and want to share some fashion and Fabriflair® ideas.

This fabric line offers a fresh look for those searching for a patterned fabric that is modern and sophisticated.

We made the Urban Tunic out of the black dot on grey.  This tunic is great in all seasons. Use it as a layering piece on cooler days with boots or go sleeveless with some cute sandals on a warm day.

We made the Gathered Back Top & Tunic from one of the smaller prints. This beginner friendly pattern has lovely lines and the flattering feature of gathering in the back.

The Everyday Tank features subtle gathering with small pleats at the neckline to give shaping without darts. We used a companion fabric with a smaller print for the bias trim around the neck, armholes, and hem.

We also used UPPERCASE fabrics to make some very graphic Fabriflair® projects. A variety of prints were used for one side of the Star Ornament and a single pattern was chosen for the reverse. As a finishing flourish, beads were added to the edges and stacked buttons to the center.

On the Large Radiant Star we added a collection of unique black buttons to really make it pop! A fun way to showcase vintage buttons!

Speaking of buttons! Janine and Amy share the passion for collecting vintage buttons!  Here is a sample of one of Janine's UPPERCASE issues that featured some wonderful button jewelry! Do you love buttons too? Check out our book Button{ware} for 33 different projects you can do with your button collection!

Janine offered her new book in her Encyclopedia of Inspiration Series, Ephemera to us for a giveaway! Since we are celebrating the 103rd birthday of the Woman's Institute  of Domestic Arts and Sciences we added Amy's book, Vintage Notions to the giveaway.  Ephemera features a story on Amy's collection of vintage notions along with her most treasured finds in her archive of  the school's publications.
