Sewing with kids has never been easier!

Sewing expert Sue Hausmann's 6-year-old granddaughter Brooke loves owls and asked her grandma if they could make one out of fabric that Brooke picked out. Sue immediately thought of our Woody and Sam pattern! Brooke created Woody all by herself, even stitching the applique. Great job Brooke, the owl is adorable!!
Thanks to Brooke and Sue for sending us the pictures - we love to see our customer's creations! For more toy and craft projects you can visit here
Here are some more family-friendly sewing projects:

The Pint-size Pinafore is all straight seams, ideal for beginners. They will love the easy fit with back ties & large pockets. It will be adorable in any fabric they choose. Teach them about the fancy stitches most machines can make with a row of decorative stitching along the pocket top or on the little yoke and straps.
With the Dressed Alike Apron, you can all work together to make matching aprons to cherish. Your young seamstress will take great pride in wearing the apron she made herself and dressing her doll.
No time to shop for fabric?  Try one of our patterns that is perfect for upcycling.
The Petite Stitched Purse can be made from a favorite pair of outgrown jeans or grab a tie and try the  Recycle Tie-To-Go purse.

The Sew-It Book is a great resource for sewing with kids. This reproduction of a 1929 book has 7 projects including a child's apron, smock, sunbonnet, rag doll, and Kimono-type jacket. Techniques include sewing, embroidery, doll dress pattern making and tie-dying.
